Since the introduction of lasers in surgery centers and clinics, doctors are looking for a reliable PDT source to use in treating unwanted organisms.
In a joint development with professors, universities and the pharmacy A. R. C. Laser succeeded to develop an effective PDT-agent.

Unlike other substances on the market, EmunDo^® responds to Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Thus, with EmunDo^® almost every known type of bacteria in the mouth can be treated.

At light activation between 790 nm and 820 nm (peak), EmunDo^® is particularly good absorbing. In a photodynamic process oxygen triplets are released with a germicidal effect.The activation threshold of the substance is very low. It already works with low power (energy densities of 30 J / cm²) in the range of 100 to 200 mW. Depending on the irradiated hand piece can even be sufficient benefits below 100 mW to start the photodynamic process.

The compliance is very good and the colors compared to other agents is no longer visible after a short time. A coloring of the lips or tongue area is already no longer visible after minutes.

The penetration depth of IR light at 810 nm is significantly higher than that of visible red light. So periodontal pockets can be reached through the oral mucosa.

The active ingredient easily can be washed out after treatment.

• The transgingival treatment may be delegated.
• The concentration of the drug is given and this increases safety and success of the treatment.
• The only adjustable variable of the laser device is the power, so the operation is simple and secure.
