For the FOX laser we offer a laser indirect ophthalmoscope (LIO), endo probes, a trans sclera probe for retina coagulation and a trans sclera probe for cyclophotocoagulation. We do not offer a slit lamp adaptation. Retinal coagulation:
Endo probes are available with 19, 20, 23 and 25 Gauge, disposable and reusable. We also offer the corresponding lenses for LIO use.
Glaucoma laser treatments:
![]() For therapy resistant glaucoma when medication does no longer work or is contraindicated, the photodestructive coagulation of the ciliary body is very efficient. The footplate of the cyclophotocoagulation probe is directly placed on the sclera to contact the fiber with the tissue. The spherical fiber end focuses the laser beam in a way that the ciliary body can be coagulated efficiently. The 810nm wavelength can penetrate the sclera with nearly no or only little absorption, because of the lack of pigment. In the ciliary body the high pigment content causes efficient absorption and therefore leads to coagulation and cell destruction. Efficient intraocular pressure reduction is achieved. |
